Silvia Cimini
Silvia Cimini is a senior architect at Schiattarella Associati. With a PhD degree in Environmental Design from Sapienza University of Rome, she is specialized in sustainable architecture, energy retrofit and in low-cost / low tech building technologies for adaptation and resilience of social habitat. She was a visiting researcher at the University of Buenos Aires in 2012 for the “Public Space for Social Habitat” project and became an expert in the area of sustainable development for informal communities, and in ETH Zurich, Wohnforum – CASE, in 2013, where she deepened her knowledge in promoting social approach to architecture. She has collaborated with NGOs in the building of public spaces and social facilities for informal settlements through the implementation of light sustainable technologies. She has participated in several research projects on the topics of historical buildings renovation and energy upgrading for the PDTA Department and the interdepartmental centre FOCUS of Sapienza.
Her 6 years experience at SA contributed in her growth as project leader and has given her the opportunity to widen her experience on innovative sustainable technologies and holistic approach to integrative design.
